How Do You Get the Soap Taste Out Of Baby Silicone Plates?

Baby silicone plates may have some smell when they are first purchased, which bothers many people. However, there are some things we can do to remove the smell from silicone products.

First, we can choose to gently clean the silicone products with warm water and neutral detergent, which can help remove some of the smell. Be careful not to use harsh chemicals or strong detergents when cleaning to avoid damaging the silicone.

In addition to cleaning, drying is also an effective method. Place the silicone products in a well-ventilated place to dry for a period of time. The smell will gradually dissipate under the circulation of air.

There are several other effective methods you can try:

Vinegar rinse: Create a solution of equal parts white vinegar and warm water. Submerge the silicone plates in this mixture and let them soak for a few minutes. The vinegar helps to neutralize any lingering soap residue and eliminate the taste. After soaking, thoroughly rinse the plates with clean water.

Baking soda paste:
Make a paste by mixing baking soda with a small amount of water. Apply the paste to the plates and gently scrub them using a soft-bristle brush or sponge. Baking soda is a natural odor eliminator and can help remove the soap taste. Rinse the plates thoroughly with water after scrubbing.

Lemon juice soak:
Squeeze fresh lemon juice into a bowl of warm water. Soak the silicone plates in this mixture for around 10-15 minutes. The natural acidity of lemon juice helps to remove soap residue and freshen up the plates. After soaking, rinse the plates well with water.

Boiling:
Boiling the silicone plates in a pot of water for a few minutes can also help eliminate the soap taste. Ensure that the plates are fully submerged and not touching the sides or bottom of the pot. After boiling, rinse the plates thoroughly with clean water.

In addition, you can also try some natural deodorants, such as activated charcoal and coffee grounds. Place these deodorants in an airtight container with silicone products to allow them to absorb odors.

Always make sure to rinse the plates extensively after using any of these methods to remove any residual taste or odor. Additionally, follow the manufacturer's instructions for specific cleaning recommendations, as some baby silicone plates may have special care instructions.
